John La Rue has been writing about public policy, energy, technology, and the environment for over a decade. He served as the Chief Speechwriter to U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz during the Obama administration, and now works as an independent writer. He is a graduate of Harvard College and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

In 2019, the Professional Speechwriter’s Association awarded one of his speeches the Grand Award in the Cicero Speechwriting Awards.
